It is also believed to be the place where St. Patrick first picked up a Shamrock to explain the doctrine of the Trinity.


As St. Patrick's Day approaches, there is a lot of news we'd like to share with you . . .

The Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade will start at 11am on Saturday March 11.

New events for this year ! 

Falconry!

Larry Keating will be bringing 5 or 6 birds of prey and will be   demonstrating this ancient craft by the CT river.
Larry will also present the history of falconry from medieval times.

Long Sword Demonstrations!

Western Swordsmanship Technique & Research

As recently featured in the Hartford Courant, this gallant band of medieval sword enthusiasts meticulously research and then re-enact long sword fights as they would of occurred in the 14th and 15th century. A sight to be seen down by the Connecticut river!

Several 'Bouncy' Castles for the Kids!

Highland Cattle!

Mr. Robert Lowe of Roxbury, CT will have a small pen of  Highland 'Coos' for the bairns to coo over!

Kyf Brewer (real name!), bagpiper with the band wants fans to know that his favourite colour is plaid and to please refrain from tossing haggis at him onstage, as it can be quite slippery.
TRIBAL CELTIC BAGPIPES, DRUMS, DIDGERIDOOS & BRONZE AGE IRISH HORN Wicked Tinkers
Hailing from Los Angeles and playing PIV in their ONLY East Coast festival this year, they recently appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
In a moment of television called "courageous" and "stirring", the Wicked Tinkers delivered a moving tribal sendoff for Craig's dad.

Morning Star
Morning Star has become one of the most popular Irish folk bands in the city of New York. They have performed on Broadway in Frank McCourt’s musical “The Irish and How They Got That Way”.  They also performed at the memorial mass for John Kennedy Jr.

Mac Talla Mor  will be performing at Tavern On The Green April 5 for the Whisky Live venue during Tartan Week in New York City!
Calley McGrane & The Exiles
The band's sound is an eclectic mix of traditional Celtic fiddle tunes, haunting Irish ballads, and rousing pub & rebel songs.
Their  2006 CD "On The Run" is alive with some contemporary sounds, yet still retains a firm link to Celtic tradition.
