 In Remembrance
David R. Ross 1958 -  2010

David R. Ross tragically passed away on
the 2nd of January 2010.

Scotland has lost one of her finest sons.
No man loved his country more and he made sure everybody knew it with an incredible passion for both its history and its future. He had so much more he wanted to do, so many plans. We can never replace his presence, knowledge and friendship. Through his books, words and actions he left a legacy that continues to inspire thousands of  people with Scots blood flowing in their veins.

Dave toured with the Celtic-tribal group Albannach and during concerts, especially at Pipes in the Valley 2008, told rousing Scottish tales which enthralled and entranced the audience.
Such was the power of his words.

Albannach have set up a memorial section to allow people to leave comments or memories about David.

In the year 2005, David walked 450 miles to London from Robroyston, Scotland in honour of Sir William Wallace on the 700th anniversary of his capture and execution in London. A church service was held and a symbolic coffin representing the Spirit of Wallace filled with notes and mementos from Scottish patriots was
taken from London to Scotland.

That was who David was. He will be sorely missed.
You can keep David's spirit alive by reading his books.

It's all right there in the pages.

MICROBREW REVIEW
Father Highland Christmas Ale

Christmas Cheer, Christmas Beer
By KERRY R. CALLAHAN
Special to The Hartford Courant
December 17, 2009

" A Four Star Brew"

"Father Highland Christmas Ale"

This venerable local offering from East Hartford's Olde Burnside Brewing remains atop my seasonal
"buy two" list, which I just conjured. Buy the first one to hand to the host. Believe me, you'll
be questioned, then admired. Buy the second because you won't want to miss this unique, changing,
seasonal brew...... Father Christmas emerges from its stupendously appealing cobalt-blue vessel to
unleash an aroma of malt, bread and pie crust tinged with cherries, perhaps dipped in brandy......It
is a bottle to be split among true friends when there's a chocolate dessert on the table and the
chaos has become manageable.
