Sláinte Mhath / Good Health To You !

Greetings to all our 'Pipes In The Valley' fans!
We believe the picture above represents the essence of what our festival is all about;
A warm atmosphere, good music, good friends & good times! If you were there on October 1, you and 10,000 others know what we mean.

Here's what a few of you had to say about the 4th PIV...
"Fantastic venue!"
"The best music/celtic festival I have ever been to! A great music lineup and great Ale too!"
"GREAT venue. Great music. Friendly crowd. Lots of great beer (I usually don't like microbrews, but this was fantastic!)"
"We drove 260 miles and were really impressed with the facility, entertainment and beer (we brought back to N.Y. 10 gallons of Ten Penny Ale)!"
"My friend and I flew several hundred miles from North Carolina for this festival and could not have had a better time! All in all, PIV was one of the most memorable and best Celtic music venues I have ever seen. The Ten Penny Ale was good, too!"
"Gail, you and your troops did an outstanding job and I was very proud of how well Hartford represented the Celtic music tradition. I had no idea Hartford had such an awesome venue, and it really showcased the strides Hartford has made."
"More Clann an Drumma next year"
Thanks for all the emails, notes and letters!

Speaking of Clann An Drumma . . .
In October, they played two sets on the main stage at  our 'Pipes' festival and really got the crowd moving!
The Clann members that played that day have formed a band called -
Albannach which is Scottish-Gaelic for "Scottish" or "Scotsman".  .  . and they are coming back next year! Checkout their site and spread the word . . .

Seasons Greetings
from The McClellan Family and all of us at
The Olde Burnside Brewing Company

The Burnside Ice Company has been run by the McClellan family since 1905. Pictured below are George McClellan at the reins of the original Burnside antique icewagon, The Burnside Icemen of yesteryear and the present day McClellan family, Gail and Bob with sons Case and Jason.

A Wee Bit Of History
I
n the early 60's a well was dug that produced water sought out by many local home brewers. About 5 years ago
Ten Penny Ale was born. Since then Burnside has added it's 'Dark Side' cousin, Dirty Penny Ale and other seasonal ales.

Best Brews!
All Burnside's brews are
genuine ales. They are unfiltered which is why they are so full flavored, but they must remain refrigerated.
  Right now our
Father Christmas Highland Ale is on the shelves. Kerry Callahan, in a recent review for the Hartford Courant gives this ale
4 stars and says:"

I'll serve Father Christmas Highland Ale to friends and relatives this Christmas, and I may even leave a pint for Santa".

Burnside brews are available at all M&R liquor stores, or ask your local package store to contact the appropriate distributor below:

Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Keep March 11, 2006 free.  Look for the Ten Penny Ale float in next year's parade. We're going to have our largest contingent yet, including several vehicles, Dicey Riley playing the TPA song, and The Hartford Wanderers rugby team showing us their plays and scrums...
